Alma Ruth Bayer Burnett Barnhart

Alma Ruth Bayer Burnett Barnhart, 89 years 11 months, went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2016. She was born on April 28, 1926 to George and Helen Bayer in Granite City, Illinois. Alma was a faithful member of the Russell Baptist Church, although her health prevented her from attending as much as she would have liked.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 32 years, Ed Barnhart of Russell and George Burnett of Granite City, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Forrest Bayer and five sisters, Dorothy Kowalk, Leona Griffin, Elanor Sparks, Hattie Luella Bayer and Helen Kudelka, all of Granite City, IL and a granddaughter, Anna Faith Burnett of Searcy.
Mrs. Barnhart is survived by her four sons, Chuck Burnett (Susan), Jesse Burnett, Jeffrey Burnett (Martha), and Jim Barnhart (Diane) all of Searcy; a life-long friend, Larry Cantrell and a best friend, Leona Stiles; 5 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, 4 step great-great grandchildren, 6 nephews and one very special niece; as well as a host of friends.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Services will be conducted Monday, April 18, 10:00 a.m., at the Russell Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Russell Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
