Daniel David Florida, 58, of Lafayette, Louisiana, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. He was born October 5, 1957 in Bernie, Missouri a son of the late Matthew and Edna Brown Florida. Daniel was a chemist with the Element Corporation. He was a Christian man who loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was everything that a brother should be to his siblings and was an excellent role model and encourager to his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his sister, Maxine Bauer; brothers, Fredrick Florida, Jack Florida (Judy) and Terry Florida (Joyce) as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Virgil Florida, Bernie Florida and Roger Florida and a sister, Verline Ridley.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Cemetery near Floral with Bro. Randy Cross officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob - Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.

Such generosity of heart is what Daniel will always be remembered for, and I am truly blessed to know that Uncle Daniel was so well-loved by people who knew him. You have blessed his family by your kindness.

I had the pleasure of working with Daniel at Element the last 3 years and I was very sadden by his passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. RIP, Daniel.

He will be surely missed. I always enjoyed our little chats about the day. I wish we could have had many more. I will also miss him saying 'crap' everytime something went wrong with his instruments. Id always laugh at that. <3>
