Pat What a gentle man you loved and we can only imagine the hole in your heart. As Regina and I reacted with tears to the news I could only think of one thing - "He is Risen!" We Presbyterians celebrate and witness resurrection but we still miss them with all our hearts. We send our Love Dennis and Regina

To the family of such a great man, Pat I am so sorry for your loss. I don't have to tell you what a great man he was. You've known that for years now. I am sorry for your loss.
To Kelly ( whom we lovingly called smelly Kelly) I know he meant a lot to you and gave you guidance. Always remember what road he put you on and stay there.
To Mark look at the road you may have taken and then look at where he took you and where you are today because of him. Always remember the love and support he gave to you.
To The Judges children. He was there with guidance for you all your lives you where taught by one of the best. Cherish all those memories, they live on with you. Pray to the Lord for strength to help you through this. My prayers are with you all. He and his smile will be missed as no nor can quite fill the chair the way he has.

We are so sorry for your loss. The entire State of Arkansas has lost a great jurist. When visiting my brother Paul in Little Rock I had many an occasion to visit with the Chief. It was always such a pleasant experience and always sprinkled with some humor. I know Paul will also miss him greatly as he so enjoyed the Chief's company. Paul was honored to be asked to speak at the service.

Jim was a breath of fresh air when he arrived in Harrison in the 10th grade. He was smart, athletic and good looking. His sister was my brothers age and his family went to the Presbyterian Church with my family, We always shared old times whenever I saw him at bar association meetings. I will miss him. He was a very kind and dear person.

Pat

I can still remember our days in law school with Jim. He was an extremely bright and conscientious student with a wonderful sense of humor. He turned out to be a great judge respected by all. Over the years I had the pleasure of visiting with him over coffee. He was very proud of his family and was devoted to you. We will all miss a good man.

We were touched with great sorrow at the death of such a good man. GOD blessed Arkansas with a gentleman whose legacy will not fade soon; as a fellow attorney, I personally witnessed his honest, quality wisdom and balanced judgement. His work serves as a fine example for other lawyers to aspire towards. The Judge's name has already been included in our prayers and we will continue to ask for all the family to be blessed with understanding and peace-in-their-hearts. Our condolences...

Jim was one of our favorite people. He was a statesman and an excellent judge. We always enjoyed it when we would be at a fundraiser or some other gathering and his great humor would have us laughing. Pat, you and the rest of the family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was especially kind to me after the loss of my husband. Glen and Jim played basketball together on many occasions through the years. After Glen passed away, I called to ask a legal question. He called back quickly then pointed me in the right direction. I appreciated his kindness and concern. Glen really thought a lot of Jim. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I attribute the success of my career to Judge Jim Hannah who hired me over 27 years ago as the Juvenile Probation Officer for White and Prairie Counties. He was such an awesome boss, always making you feel at ease, never too busy if you needed a question answered. I am fortunate now to work for his son, Judge Craig Hannah, who is so much like his father. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during the loss of such a special person.

Praying for your family. I meet Mr. Hannah when I was 17 standing in a court room for running with the wrong friends. Because he seen some good in me, he spoke to the judge, I promised him and I did get rid of those friends. Because of him my life changed for the good, I became a wife, mother, and Sunday School Teacher. He was an amazing man and I think him for my life changed.

Posted by Jim Payne - Searcy, AR - Friend   January 15, 2016

Dear Family, it is hard to find the right words to describe the deep sense of personal loss I feel over the Chief's passing. He was indeed one of the "good ones" and our state will benefit for years to come from the work he did, from his visions for the Judicial Branch!

My prayers for you are ones for peace in your souls!
