It was always a pleasure to see Jack and Billie playing golf together at River Oaks in recent years, and I enjoyed teaming up with Jack many times in our Wednesday seniors league. He was a gracious, gentle Christian friend. Our sincere condolences to Billie and the family.

Our paths have not crossed much in the last 25 years but I have fond memories of Mr. Boustead and his sweet family. I loved growing up with Sarah. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Just read about Coach Boustead, such a great teacher. I had to have a class in swimming to get my Kines. degree, couldn't swim which was crazy at 25, but "Coach" was great helped me in so many ways. Loved the guy. I was in the class with Charles Gardner, Butch's brother and we had a time with Charles. Coach couldn't get Charles to float worth anything, we had fun at his expense. But Charles could wipe us out going to the bottom of the pool. Coach would throw a coin down to the bottom of the pool and we had to go get it. Charles had no problem ,I think his lungs never filled up with air, he just sank. haha. That's what i remember about his class, We will miss you Coach. God Bless You ! Just a student of yours. I was not a good swimmer and struggled through most of the strokes coming in near last in most of them except one: after I shot across the pool faster than everyone with the dolphin kick, I'll never forget Coach's surprise and shock. From then on, I was Aquaman to him :) That's my superhero origin story, but it was Coach's constant patience and encouragement that made me hang in there through all the other strokes until I found the kick that worked for me. From that turning point, I've since worked back through and gained a better appreciation, if not mastery, for all the strokes as he taught me. Every time I'm in the water, I inevitably think of Coach. I am so thankful for his impact on my life--he was a true superhero to me and, I know, to so many others. Blessings, condolences, and peace to his family--Coach will be dearly missed.

Coach was such a good influence in my life. He saw more in me than I thought was possible. His gentle spirit, tenacious good will, and ability to shape young men was and is a rare combination. I am praying for your family in this time of grief.

Jack will be missed by many, many folks. He was always a friend and a good man. I enjoyed visiting with him on the golf course and he was kind to me as I was learning to play. I am grateful for his years of service to Harding and to the college congregation.
